Sanny, the stage name behind which Sandra Gómez hides, is an artist from Vigo with one foot in the early years of Bob Dylan and the Nebraska of Bruce Springsteen, and with another in contemporary indie artists such as Phoebe Bridgers and Sharon Van Etten. She develops her particular compositional and interpretive style in small rooms mainly in Santiago and Vigo.
At the beginning of 2019, he spent 3 months in Preston (United Kingdom) and visited the open mics of local pubs every week while researching music and society in the US. In addition, this time served him to finish profiling the songs that are part of his first EP Loners Downtown (2019), recorded at Estudios Mans. The work is made up of five songs in which the theme of loneliness is explored and in which the influence of the 'Americana' sound is clearly evident, as well as artists closer to indie such as Elliot Smith or Bright Eyes. With this work, Sanny participates in various stages such as Smalltown or Sofar Sounds Porto and opens for Sidonie and Iván Ferreiro in their concerts at TerraCeo and EspazoFest respectively.
She now begins a new musical stage with the presentation of two new singles '25' and 'Bird in a Cage', two songs recorded last summer at Radar Estudios (Vigo) and produced by Pablo Iglesias. With these two songs, the artist introduces the brand new band that now accompanies her: Denis Carballás on guitar, Bruno Costas on bass and Anxo Paz on drums. Furthermore, the more traditional folk of the songs on her first EP now gives way to more elaborate melodies and more careful production.
